The Vista Del Sol 24-Inch Waterline Phase I & II Extension Project is a Potable Water Transmission Main for the City of El Paso, El Paso Water Utilities (EPWater). This project was required to provide water to future development in Far East El Paso, Texas along Loop 375 Joe Battle Blvd from Montwood to Vista Del Sol. CMD was awarded the project by EPWater as the most qualified, lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The project consisted of 10,975-LF of 36-Inch & 24-Inch Water Transmission Main Installation along TXDOT Right-of-Way, 412-LF of 54-Inch & 42-Inch Tunnel Bore Steel Casing under US-54, over 10,000-SY of Asphalt and Concrete Paving Removal and Replacement, 36-Inch & 24-Inch Butterfly Valves, Valve Vaults, 6-Inch Blow-Off Valves, 6-Inch Combination Air Release Vacuum Valves, Cathodic Protection System, Traffic Control, Trench Safety System, Storm Water Plan, and Silt Fence Installation. Project included some challenges such 8-Inch Concrete Paving Removal and Replacement behind one of the busiest shopping centers in East El Paso at the intersection of Montwood and Loop 375 just prior to the peak of holiday shopping season. However, CMD was able to successfully meet this milestone and complete the project on-time and on-budget for the Owner. CMD was honored to be part of this successful project with EPWater for our industry and community.
