The Roberto Bustamante WWTP Effluent Pipeline to Rio Bosque Wetlands Park is an extension to provide increased and continue capacity for the Wastewater Treatment Plant located along the Border and the Rio Grande River for the City of El Paso, El Paso Water Utilities (EPWater). CMD was awarded the project by EPWater as the most qualified, lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The project consisted of 6,155-LF of 36-Inch Effluent Pipeline installation along the International Border, 48-Inch Steel Cylinder Concrete Pipe Cross Connection, 48-Inch & 36-Inch Butterfly Valves, Valve Vaults, 24-Inch Ductile Iron Pipe with 24-Inch Gate Valves, Groundwater Dewatering Operation, Trench Safety System, Storm Water Plan, and Silt Fence Installation. Project included challenges such as permit delays and real-time design changes due to existing channel conditions. However, CMD was still able to completed the project ahead of schedule and under budget for the Owner. CMD was honored to be part of this successful project for EPWater.
