The North Franklin East 36-Inch Waterline Phase II Project is a Potable Water Transmission Main for the City of El Paso, El Paso Water Utilities (EPWater). This project was required to provide water to future development in the Northeast of El Paso, Texas along US-54 Highway. CMD was awarded the project by EPWater as the most qualified, lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The project consisted of 5,500-LF of 36-Inch & 24-Inch Water Transmission Main installation along TXDOT Right-of-Way, 410-LF of 54-Inch Tunnel Bore Operation under US-54, 36-Inch Butterfly Valves, Valve Vaults, 6-Inch Blow-Off Valves, 6-Inch Combination Air Release Vacuum Valves, Cathodic Protection, Gabion Mattresses, Traffic Control, Trench Safety, Storm Water Plan, and Silt Fence Installation. Project included challenges such as real-time redesign of waterline profile by Engineer due to existing soil conditions and existing utility conflicts in the area. However, CMD was still able to completed the project on-time and on-budget for the Owner. CMD was honored to be part of this successful project.
